Brass Monkey Weather

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brass_monkey_(colloquial_expression)

Irrespective of where it came from, the phrase is applicable today. We all know that for the same temperature it seems much colder in HK than in, say, Europe. I know my bedroom is bloody freezing. 'Nuff said

  2. It IS colder than in Europe, because even if outside it's warmer than there, we don't have heating like they do, so we are in fact colder than there despite it being relatively warmer. YouseewhatImean?

Yes I do see. And this is why the UK is much hotter for any given temperature than HK. All the pubs with the low ceilings and the warm beer and the sticky carpets are not set up for 30 degree Celsius weather
