Crimbo songs

& whilst I come to think of it, my favourite Christmas song is

Killing in the name of - RATM

Why? For the same reason a smell can take you back to that magic summer you spent in Tuscany etc etc.

But now it is my favourite Xmas song I can use it as a refreshing antitdote to all the schmaltzy (sp?) crap that you get at Christmas.

  1. Does it remind you of Xmas if you listen to it in June?.. Congrats on your blog opening by the way. It seems I am your very first commentator, wuhhuuuhhh, what an honour.
Have a fabulous Xmas with the Crimbo Orphan gang!

  2. Personally my favourite Christmas song is called "Murder by Mistletoe" by the Felice Brothers. It's sad, and beautiful, and is not really about Christmas but is nonethless a Christmas song: they even manage to make the sleighbells sound cool.

I've screwed up my iPod so sadly I don't have it with me in the UK, and can't listen to it. I can only find a so-so live version on YouTube, so you will have to wait.

  3. Evie, Thanks for popping in and christening the site, as it were. I look forward to reading your blog in 09.

LottieP. Hope the issue is not lasting. Once I managed to erase my entire iPod with 10 minutes to go before leaving the house to catch my flight. A holiday "sans tunes" ensued, my to my dismay.

  4. I found another contender. I love this: it's sweet and sad and beautiful.

My iPod was entirely denuded of tunes, because I thought it would be a great idea to reformat it a scant few hours before leaving for the UK and I couldn't charge it up enough to replenish it before I had to leave to catch my flight. I'm surprised by how much I miss it.

  5. I changed from a PC to a Mac and had to upload all the stupid music again and lost all the songs I had nicked from a friend's ipod. Grrr
