My Dad

Was just talking to my Mum about my Dad. He died when I was 18 years old and I still miss him all these years later.

  1. I don't think you ever cease to be your parent's child. My grandfather died two months ago and watching my father over it, I saw him as a child for the first time. It was humbling.

It's normal to miss people. I'd be worried if you didn't.

  2. Death is all around us but modern western culture tends to try and ignore it vigorously.
Alain De Botton talks about it in one of his books (unfortunately I can't remember which one).
